OPDL Cup

The OPDL Cup is a competition for male and female atheltes at the U-15 and U-17 age groups in alignment with the Canadian Soccer Associations Long Term Player Development Model (LTPD), focused on LTPD Stage 4 ‘Training to Train’ and LTPD Stage 5 ‘Train to Compete’.

The competition provides a platform for Ontario Soccer High Performance staff to observe and assess players and coaches outside regular league game environment.

Competition Format

2018

U-15 OPDL Cup / Ontario Summer Games

  • 1 elimination round will be played for each gender to yield        8 teams
  • Teams are grouped regionally
  • Teams are seeded as outlined in the OPDL Operational Rules
  • 8 teams per gender to advance to Ontario Summer Games
    • 2 Groups of 4
    • Round Robin tournament played to determine 1st + 2nd place teams
    • Winner of Group A to play Winner of Group B in Gold Medal match - Sunday August 5th
    • 2nd Group A to play 2nd Group B in Bronze Medal match - Sunday August 5th

  • 4 rounds will be played for each gender
  • Single elimination
    • Winner of each round advances to the next round
  • Teams are grouped regionally
  • Teams are seeded as outlined in the OPDL Operational Rules
  • U-17 OPDL Cup Finals - Saturday July 28 at the Ontario Soccer Centre
